I was crunching some numbers, figuring in new salaries for Vanek, Roy, and Paetsch, and I was able to see that if the Sabres were able to trade both Spacek and either Kotalik or Hecht, that both Daniel Briere and Chris Drury would be able to be signed by the Sabres. This would be huge for next season. The players that the team brought in would have to be close to the minimum amounts, especially at forward. The replacement for Spacek could be around $1 million.
